Filing with Revenue, online

File your tax return online in Ireland: ROS, myAccount and how to use them

Revenue wants most returns filed online, and it works well once you know which door to use. Form 11 goes through ROS, and Form 12 goes through myAccount. We’ll show you how each works, what you need before you start and the deadline rules that catch people out. Or hand it to us, and we’ll file it for you.

Quick answers

Filing online questions

Can I file a Form 11 on paper?
You can, but the deadline is 31 October with no extension. Filing and paying through ROS gives you the later date, and it’s the way Revenue expects most people to file.
Do I have to use ROS myself?
No. An accountant or tax agent can file for you through ROS once you authorise them, and many people do exactly that.
What if I can’t log in?
Contact Revenue to sort out your access, or let us file for you so you don’t miss the date while you wait.
How long should I keep my records?
Six years. Revenue can review a return long after you’ve filed it.

Prefer not to wrestle with the portal?

Send us your records. We’ll prepare the return, file it on ROS and make sure you get the later deadline.
